Why do you need a ZIEIS Postal Scale? As you may know, USPS offers a discount for First Class postage rate for letters that weigh from 1 to 13 ounces. This discount rate is calculated by the ounce and is rounded up to the nearest whole ounce (e.g. If your letter weighs 1.2 oz, you will be charged the 2 oz. rate).
This ZIEIS digital scale also offers you twice the accuracy needed to weigh letters (USPS rates are calculated in 1 oz increments - this scales accuracy is 0.5 oz)
USPS packages that weigh over 13 ounces will be shipped at 1 pound via USPS Priority Mail rates. UPS, Fed Ex, DHL, and other carriers start their shipping rates at 1 pound and round up to the next whole pound (e.g. If your package weighs 1.2 pound, you will be charged the 2 pound rate).
When enabled, the programmable AUTO-HOLD feature allows you to weigh boxes larger than the scale by automatically holding the weight on the box until you can remove the box and obtain the displayed weight.
How to use AUTO-HOLD (see image above)
Step 1) Press ON button
Step 2) Place box on platform
Step 3) Wait for Beep
Step 4) Remove box
Step 5) Read the displayed weight of the box
Note: Once a stable weight is obtained, the scale will beep and LOCK, HOLD, and DISPLAY the weight for about 10 seconds, which is enough time for you to record the weight of your box.
In addition, your scale offers Programmable Power that allows you set your digital scale to automatically turn off after a few minutes of non-use or you can program the scale to always stay on until you turn it off. You select the power setting the works best for your weighing application.
Your ZIEIS scale will also include a 3 piece sheet of Z-SEAL, which is a low-cost solution to help prevent damage caused by accidental spillage. Z-SEAL is a clear laminate material that you applied over the LCD and buttons. You will receive three (3) Z-SEALS on one (1) SHEET - Just peel & stick.
